Yes, but I've seen friendly endings to relationships, but yes, if it does end badly, I would want to try to cheer him up before going any farther.

I don't say that there aren't any friendly endings. But most of the time it ends badly. Most of the time it is that one of them still loves the other and that person is having trouble staying good friends with his/her ex.

Well, believe me when I say that that is stupid (no offense). If he mistreats you, then you should leave. There are plenty of other nice persons to get something with, you just haven't met them yet. I know you don't see that now, since you are completely in love, but wisdom comes with the time.
